Vtuber Channel: Logo & Brand

Freelance, Summer 2022

One of my friends decided to launch her own Vtuber channel with the theme of a cute humanoid goldfish and needed some help with logo design and branding. I was hired on to create a logo for her Twitch channel, display panels for the channel’s descriptions, a visual schedule for future streams, and other assets to come.

Logo Design

Research & Planning

In the initial drafts, I looked up some of the most popular Vtubers’ logos and branding to see just what styles were widespread and how everything fit together. I asked my client questions concerning her targeted brand identity. Once I received a thorough idea of her character’s marketable personality, I then provided multiple type samples to my client and started drafting simple logos to help provide an idea of how her brand’s main color palette interacts with an ocean-colored background.

Iteration

Once a few typefaces were chosen by the client, I created three prototype logos in a few different styles. The client then had the option to pick and choose the best elements from each logo in order to refine a particular option into the channel’s final logo.

Final Logo

After a review period, the client settled on the version of the logo with pastel stars (an element that fit with the animated overlays she had already commissioned for her streams). With a bit of refinement to give the letters some extra movement, the logo was finally complete.

Channel Assets

Panel Headers

Once the logo was finalized, I was able to use the same style of design in headers for her channel’s descriptions.

Stream Schedule

Finally, I created a visual schedule for her future streams. The template is fully customizable to insert stream titles and times with ease, and it contains a spotlight for commissioned art of her Vtuber model on the side.
